Manage your HostAfrica account from the AI tool you already use.

List services, check monitoring, reboot, reinstall, mount ISOs.

  • Backups and Snapshots

Snapshot before you deploy, restore, and schedule recurring backups.

Browse all actions

Your favourite coding agents. All covered.

Every path below registers the same hosted connector. Pick your tool, run one command or paste one URL, then sign in through the browser.

Claude Code

Run one command in the terminal where Claude Code lives.

claude mcp add --scope user --transport http hostafrica https://mcp.hostafrica.com/mcp

Then run /mcp inside Claude Code and sign in through the browser. Your access stays scoped to your account, and you can revoke it anytime.

Secure by default.

The connector points your tool at our hosted MCP server. Your account stays in your control.

  • Nothing runs on your laptop

The server is hosted at HostAfrica. Connecting a tool writes one entry into that tool’s settings, and that is all.

  • You sign in, not your AI

Access runs on OAuth in your own browser. Grants are scoped to your account and revocable in the Client Area.

  • One connector, about 72 tools

VPS lifecycle, backups and snapshots, firewall, DNS, domains, orders and payments.

  • Clean uninstall

One command removes every registration and leaves your tool configs the way it found them.

Frequently asked questions

Short answers about the HostAfrica AI Connector, what it costs and how it keeps your account safe.

Is the connector free?

Yes. The connector and the hosted MCP server are free to use. You pay only for the HostAfrica services you already run, like your VPS servers and domains.

What do I need to use it?

Two things: a HostAfrica account and an AI tool that supports MCP connectors, like Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or VS Code. There is nothing to install on your machine.

Which AI tools work with it?

The one-command installer registers Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf, Gemini CLI, Codex, Antigravity, Devin CLI and JetBrains Junie, and the VS Code extension registers the server natively. Chat apps like claude.ai and ChatGPT, plus Zed, take the connector URL as a paste-in setup - and any other tool that supports remote MCP servers works the same way.

Is it safe to let an AI tool touch my account?

You sign in to HostAfrica yourself, in your own browser. Your AI tool never sees your password. Access is scoped to your account and you can revoke it at any time in the Client Area. Nothing runs on your machine, so there is nothing to patch or babysit.

How do I install it?

One command: npx @hostafrica/connect install. It detects the AI tools on your machine and writes the connector into each one’s settings - nothing else installs. Prefer doing it by hand? Every tool’s manual path is in the picker above, and the source lives on GitHub.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. If you can paste a URL into your tool’s settings, you can connect. The prompts are plain language, like asking a colleague.
